Perth Scorchers assistant coach Beau Casson has offered some insight into Jhye Richardson’s latest shoulder injury ahead of BBL|14.
Richardson left the field during WA’s Sheffield Shield game against SA on Sunday after taking 2 wickets in 2 balls, clutching his shoulder after dishing out a few high-fives.
The WA quick did return and bowl another 3 spells, taking another wicket, but the injury was cause for concern about his durability.
“I’m not medical expert, but obviously he’s had a history of shoulder problems,” Casson told 91.3 Sport FM.
“The high five caused him some discomfort. He’s occasionally had issues with it slipping in and out.
“He came back on and bowled very similar pace. We’re hoping it’s not too bad and he continues to get more strength in it.
“Let’s hope it’s a small bump. He could do with a little bit of luck going his way.”
The Scorchers already have some injury concerns heading into BBL|14 with all-rounders Ashton Agar and Cooper Connolly hoping to return from issues in the early stages of the season.
