Vice-Captains

1. Luke Davies-Uniacke

The highest SuperCoach scorer this year hurt a lot of his coaches last week by being a late out 10 minutes before the bounce. However, he should be back this week and there is no reason to think he can’t go big again. He may cop a Curnow tag, but LDU is safe to take a swing at with your VC on the Friday night.

2. Nick Daicos

Averaging 129 over the first three games of the season, and Nick still managed a 109 in slippery conditions last week. I’m not expecting a monster score but this is looking like a difficult week for Vice-Captain options and Daicos could net you a safe 120.

3. Harry Sheezel

I listed the Sheez as my POD captain choice last week and he followed through with a 120. This week we can have a play with him as our VC. Much like Daicos, I am not expecting a giant score, but with how frustrating picking a Captain has been this year, locking in a bankable 115 to start your week is a safe move.

Captains

1. Marcus Bontempelli

Averaging a massive 125 over his entire career against Richmond (8 games), with a high of 146 and a low of 96. Marcus set the tone for the Bulldogs last week and would have had a much bigger score if it wasn’t for the clangers and disposal efficiency. The Bont will bounce back here in a big way.

2. Brodie Grundy

Grundy made my top 3 captain recommendations last week and he delivered with a giant 143. He backs that up this week against the rabble of a ruck department at West Coast. In the last two weeks, Bailey Williams has given up 132 points to Matt Flynn and 132 points to Sean Darcy. Grundy is going to monster him. Brodie averages 121 in his last three against West Coast (which includes some Nic Nat games).

3. Tim English

Much like Clayton Oliver, below, English has a poor track record against this week’s opponents. But current form is the currency of this game, and Tim has been ultra-consistent to start the year, with scores of 134, 139 and 139. Nank the tank is a hard hit out match-up, but I can’t see him keeping up with English around the ground. Set and forget.

4. Clayton Oliver

Oliver hasn’t cracked the ton in any of his last three meetings with West Coast, which is the big flag here. But Clarry is in such hot form at the moment that he has to be an option for us again. Averaging 135 to start the year deserves some respect.

5. Rowan Marshall

Rowan has had an up-and-down start to the season, but his statistics against Jarrod Witts are elite. Averaging 124 against the Suns over his career (4 games), which come from scores of 125, 107, 143 and 122. I’m expecting another 120+ score this week.

POD Captain?

1. Tom Mitchell

Tom Mitchell loves playing the Lions. He has played them 9 times in his career for an average of over 130. This is by far his most profitable match-up and he could be a real POD Captain (or Vice-Captain) choice. 129 and 132 in his last two matches against the Lions. Take a flier on the pig and you could be rewarded.

My moves

I have improved in rank every week to currently be ranked 4,296 overall, largely based on smart Captain selections.

Last week I chose English as Vice-Captain (139) into a Laird Captaincy (114). I took English’s VC score.
This week I will have the Vice-Captain on Daicos followed by English as my Captain.
