With a month until SuperCoach BBL starts, the T20 World Cup provided an excellent form guide for players you may be considering in your starting squad, so we’ve helped you out.
We’ve converted the runs and wickets etc to give you all the BBL-contracted players SC scores, and there was a few stand-out performers, led by Hobart Hurricanes recruit Shadab Khan ($125k B/B) who was great with bat and ball. Shadab is an interesting one, given his prime batting role for Pakistan, coming in at five, which may not happen for the Canes and always bowling four overs. Of Shadab’s 562 points, 148 came with the bat, 364 with the ball and 50 in the field.
Trent Boult ($180k BWL) relished the Aussie conditions for bowlers early, but faded. Alex Hales ($130k BAT) did the opposite, starting slow before bursting into life with three 70+ scores, including 121 in the semi-final. With Thunder having back-to-back doubles to start, he’s impossible to ignore, although he showed his low floor in the final, scoring only 1.
Sixers import Chris Jordan ($125k BWL) came in for England’s semi-final with a beefed-up score after taking a 3fa inflated by junk-time wickets, despite going for 43 off his four overs. Then again, death-overs bowlers do score well. Be backed that up nicely in the final.
Liam Livingstone ($180k B/B) was OK but not favoured by regularly batting too low in the order, while only being used very occasionally with the ball, given Ben Stokes was their fifth bowler. Of Livingstone’s 253 points, 80 came with the bat, 113 with the ball and 60 in the field.
Rain meant Mujeeb Ur Rahman ($111k BWL) and Rashid Khan ($193k BWL) only played three games but they were both prolific in the wickets column. Rashid added some runs against Australia too.
Plenty of the Aussie contingent were OK, with Glenn Maxwell ($184k B/B) the pick of the bunch, while Adam Zampa ($103k BWL) and Marcus Stoinis ($83k B/B) reinforced their status as Round 1 locks. Sadly Maxwell’s broken leg means he’s likely out of the whole of BBL|12.
Our BBL injury list will also go live too, so you know who’s available and who’s not for Round 1. Stay tuned. Check out our availability calendar, for a full overview of every player’s availability and possible clashes here.
