Hawthorn v Adelaide
CBAs (25): Dylan Moore seems to have entered Hawthorn’s midfield rotation, having 15 of their 25 CBAs and scoring 129/135, after having seven CBAs over the previous fortnight. That seemed to squeeze Connor Nash (8) out mostly.
Matt Crouch’s (11) return squeezed out Harry Schoenberg (2), while rookie Jake Soligo (4) continues to get a few CBAs but didn’t score well.
Kick-ins: James Sicily (1/1) only had one of Hawthorn’s six kick-ins. Brodie Smith (4/2) had Adelaide’s most kick-ins with Jordan Dawson (2/2) getting two.
TOG%: Jordan Dawson (91%) was blanketed by tireless Finn Maginness (94%) for almost three quarters, with the Crows defender scoring 76/80.

Darcy Parish’s injury-enforced absence opened the door for Caldwell’s role. Ben Hobbs had 10 CBs which was his most all season, scoring 63/56.
Kick-ins: With Daniel Rich and Keidean Coleman out, Brandon Starcevich (8/8) took eight of Brisbane’s 10 kick-ins, scoring 107/89. Andy McGrath (3/3) took the equal most Essendon kick-ins upon his return from injury.

Sydney v Western Bulldogs
CBAs (29): Callum Mills (16) went massive with a score of 148/138 despite only 55% CBAs as he was often placed on the wing.
Adam Treloar had no CBAs for the first time all season, dropping down back and taking some kick-ins. That impacted Marcus Bontempelli (21) most, having 72% CBAs, up on his 57% season average.
Kick-ins: Nick Blakey (7/7) and Jake Lloyd (4/4) shared 11 of Sydney’s 12 kick-ins as per usual. Treloar (3/2) took a few as the Dogs seek to replace Caleb Daniel but Bailey Dale (10/10) had the most. Dale only scored 57/76 with a forward tag from Ryan Clarke.

Geelong v Melbourne
CBAs (25): Mark Blicavs (19) was used in the middle in a non-ruck role, but only scored 74/81. Max Gawn’s (19) return impacted Luke Jackson’s (6) CBAs, with the latter scoring only 52/65.
Kick-ins: After Geelong only got two kick-ins last week in Tom Stewart’s absence, it’s clear this week that Mitch Duncan (5/5) will benefit from his absence, taking five of their nine kick-ins and scoring 138/117.
Geelong’s inaccuracy helped Steven May (16/13) boost his score up to 95/97, as he took 16 of their 18 kick-ins.
TOG%: Duncan had 88% time on ground in his wing/half-back role. Dangerfield was up from 62% on his return last week to 79% this time in a major rise, scoring 105/114. Oliver had 88% despite a thumb concern. Jackson only had 61% on his return from a knee issue.
