UPDATES

Aaron Finch ($62k BAT) says he is on track to return to play in Round 4. Speaking on FoxCricket, Finch said: “My plan is to be the right for the 22nd (December, R4 vs Perth Scorchers). That all seems to be on track at the moment.”

Tymal Mills ($125k BWL) confirmed that he wouldn’t be permitted into WA for the Scorchers’ scheduled game against the Hobart Hurricanes on Monday at Optus Stadium, the first game of Perth’s Round 4 double, but reports have emerged that game may need to moved after Tasmania opened its borders to the country.

Mills said before those rumours emerged: “I’m not allowed to travel over to WA… The guys will fly to Perth on Sunday. I’ll hop over to Melbourne and meet the guys there for our next game after that against the Renegades (December 22).”

Expect the Melbourne Stars to stay patient with Joe Clarke ($92k WKP/BAT) despite his continued struggles with the bat.

When asked tinkering with Clarke, Stars coach David Hussey told RSN Breakfast on Wednesday morning: “No, not at all. He’s a genuine star. Every game in T20, whatever happens, you move on and take your learnings.”

Michael Neser ($127k BAT/BWL) may come into calculations for the Brisbane Heat’s next game on Sunday December 19 after he was overlooked for the Second Ashes Test, with Jhye Richardson confirmed to play. The Test starts on Thursday.

Sean Abbott‘s ($179k BWL) availability is set to change, after his partner gave birth to their daughter Ella. That will likely mean Abbott becomes available for the Sixers away games moving forward. Big congrats to them!

Steve O’Keefe ($165k BWL) suffered a calf injury in the field for the Sixers in their win over the Melbourne Stars on Wednesday.

The Sixers update said: “Left the field with a calf injury and will not return.”

Tom Curran ($170k BAT/BWL) also had a back spasm and did not bowl after the one over he had been used for, but was not X-factored out when they had the option and remained in the field. We will pursue an update.
