Inglis and Marsh added to Scorchers squad, Couch job security soars, McDermott shock return

Josh Inglis and Mitch Marsh were both added to the Perth Scorchers squad after Australia A duty ahead of their Round 4 DGW, while Brody Couch’s job security seems to be firming up.



The Hobart Hurricanes named a 16-man squad with three big additions headlined by Ben McDermott ($163k WKP/BAT).

The Hurricanes update said: “Ben McDermott is also available for selection after recovering from surgery last week.”

English middle-order bat Harry Brook ($125k BAT) and Australia A fast bowler Scott Boland ($144k BWL) also come in, with Tom Andrews ($42k BWL) and Tom Lammonby ($113k BAT/BWL) omitted.

The Perth Scorchers named a 14-man squad, adding in Australia A pair Josh Inglis ($133k WKP/BAT) and Mitch Marsh ($132k BAT/BWL), as well as English import Tymal Mills ($125k BWL) after serving his quarantine period.

Nick Hobson ($42k BAT) and David Moody (BWL) both drop out.

The job security of Brody Couch ($62k BWL) seeming to be firming up after some good displays with the ball.

Stars coach David Hussey added: “Young Brody Couch just delivered when we needed him the most. He bowls fast, he’s aggressive and generally takes wickets for us. I think we’ve found a future Melbourne Star and hopefully for Australia.”

The prices for Stars import Ahmed Daniyal ($62k BWL) and Thunder replacement Lachlan Hearne ($42k BAT) were both added to SuperCoach.
