Port Adelaide v Fremantle

Port subbed out Ryan Burton (AF $468k SC $320k DEF) with a knee issue. Orazio Fantasia (AF $452k SC $286k D/F) also seems to have a lingering issue.

Power coach Ken Hinkley said: “We had Fantasia whose knee is a bit grumbly so there will be some scans needed there. Fantasia has had a few battles with that knee the last couple of weeks. We might have to do something there.”

Freo subbed out Sam Switkowski (AF $424k SC $328k FWD) due to hamstring awareness.

Sydney v Carlton

Michael Gibbons (AF $420k SC $313k FWD) was subbed out with a hamstring issue.

Richmond v Adelaide

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick said that Shane Edwards (AF $549k SC $448k MID) was a “highly probable chance of playing next week”. This may impact Hugo Ralphsmith‘s (AF $184k SC $123k M/F) selection.

Sam Berry (AF $328k SC $232k MID) was subbed out for Adelaide with concussion. Adelaide head of performance Matt Hass said: “Sam Berry was involved in a collision in a marking contest in the second quarter and assessed at half time. He was subbed out of the game with concussion and will now be subject to the AFL’s concussion protocol.”

West Coast v Essendon

The Eagles lost Tim Kelly (AF $699k SC $514k MID) to a knee injury. West Coast coach Adam Simpson said: "TK has got a medial... I'm not sure (how bad). Obviously not good enough to come back on." Oscar Allen (AF $430k SC $363k FWD) suffered a head knock too.

Simpson also spoke about Elliot Yeo's (AF $679k SC $483k MID) return from a groin injury. He said: "He was a bit rusty early and he worked into it. He'll build his minutes, but we've got to manage him for the rest of the year."

Peter Wright (AF $507k SC $372k F/R) was a late withdrawal with a calf issue. Essendon coach Ben Rutten said: "He's probably unlikely. He'll probably miss next week as well."

Gold Coast v Hawthorn

No subs were used, although Ned Reeves (AF $195k SC $123k RUCK) was benched late with shoulder soreness.

St Kilda v North Melbourne

No subs were used.

Brisbane Lions v GWS Giants

Brisbane coach Chris Fagan revealed some big news about the potential return of Lachie Neale (AF $747k SC $580k MID).

Fagan said: "There's a chance that he'll be right. The decision will be, we've got a bye the week after... It may make more sense to wait until after that bye but we'll just see."

Shane Mumford (AF $485k SC $476k RUCK) had a hamstring worry but GWS coach Leon Cameron clarified the extent, with obvious ramifications for Matthew Flynn (AF $486k SC $351k RUCK) and Kieren Briggs (AF $182k SC $123k D/F).

Cameron said: "Mummy was worried about a hamstring. Further investigation showed someone had stood on Mummy's hamstring & there was some blood in his bike shorts, so it wasn't a hamstring and was more of a cut."

Collingwood v Geelong

Brodie Grundy (AF $825k SC $659k RUCK) was subbed out with a neck injury. Collingwood provided an update on Sunday, which said: "The scans cleared Grundy of any major injury and he left hospital on Saturday evening. He will be assessed in coming days."

Cam Guthrie (AF $840k SC $609k MID) was a late withdrawal with a shoulder injury.

Geelong coach Chris Scott said: "We expected him to play. It was a situation where once he had the medical procedures pre-game, it was a bit hard to predict how that would go. Pre-game we thought he'd be OK but he wasn't. He called it pretty early. We thought he was 95% ready to go, surprisingly he wasn't and he called it as well."

Mark Blicavs (AF $541k SC $429k D/M) was also withdrawn late with a calf issue.

Western Bulldogs v Melbourne

Debutant Riley Garcia (AF $170k SC $123k MID) was subbed out early on with concussion.

Dogs coach Luke Beveridge revealed Stefan Martin (AF $414k SC $284k RUCK) is close to returning from an Achilles injury, which will impact Jordon Sweet (AF $332k SC $205k RUCK).

On Martin, Beveridge said: "He trained today and had a really good session. It appears he's totally over his Achilles injury. We'll definitely take Stef to Perth."

On Sweet, he added: "He's been pretty good for us. He's played an important for the last few weeks. Tonight was a difficult challenge for him. It's been few games for Jordan to taste AFL life."

Ed Langdon (AF $705k SC $504k MID) suffered concussion and was subbed out late.
