James Jordon’s job security received a major boost, Taylor Walker had an injury scare, Essendon named another debutant and Adam Simpson spoke the language of SuperCoach and AFL Fantasy coaches.

West Coast included recruit Alex Witherden (AF $654k SC $456k DEF) for his club debut. Eagles coach Adam Simpson said: “He is a good footballer and he has a good football brain. He’s a good replacement for losing Hurn. He will take some kick ins so you can put that in your dream team or whatever.”

Liam Ryan (AF $477k SC $369k FWD) was a surprise omission with a “bone stress injury in the shin area” with no return date confirmed yet.
