Sixers all-rounder Dan Christian says his body is fine after causing SuperCoaches anxiety after not bowling in their previous BBL|10 match, while Ashton Agar and Mitch Starc were both ruled out.
The Sydney Sixers named an unchanged 19-man squad to play the Perth Scorchers in Canberra on Saturday night.
There were no surprises in the squad with no Mitch Starc ($190k BWL) as expected.
Dan Christian ($175k BAT/BWL) is an interesting talking point regarding role, after not bowling in their final regular season game against the Stars.
Christian said on Friday morning about not bowling last game: “The body is absolutely fine. That was just tactical. An embarrassment of riches. Moises probably bowled our best bowlers in the first 10 overs to get the Bash Boost.”
Sixers squad: Abbott, Avendano, Ball, Bertus, Bird, Brathwaite, Christian, Dwarshuis, J.Edwards, Henriques, Hughes, Kerr, Manenti, O’Keefe, Philippe, Pope, Sandhu, Silk, Vince
The Scorchers named an unchanged 16-man squad to play the Sixers also with no surprises.
Ashton Agar ($102k BAT/BWL) isn’t part of the squad and won’t play in BBL|10 due to a calf/finger injury.
WACA Sports Science and Sports Medicine Manager Nick Jones said: “Ashton Agar is making good progress in his return from his right calf aponeurosis injury and has successfully transitioned back into skills training.
“Ash will not be ready to return during the BBL|10 Finals however he is tracking well and we expect him to be fully available for Australia’s five-match T20 tour of New Zealand next month.”
Scorchers squad: Turner, Fawad Ahmed, Bancroft, Behrendorff, Hardie, Inglis, Kelly, Livingstone, Marsh, Munro, Paris, Patterson, Richardson, Rocchiccioli, Roy, Tye
