Marcus Stoinis has revealed he’s ‘really close’ to a return to bowling, while Daniel Sams sustained a concussion ahead of the Thunder’s double game and Chris Lynn is back in full swing.

Imad Wasim ($134k BAT/BWL) returns for the Renegades who have named a 17-man squad against the Adelaide Strikers on Tuesday night, after missing Sunday’s game against Perth due to the WA border rules.

Shaun Marsh ($137k BAT) and Rilee Rossouw ($104k BAT) are both out, while Noor Ahmad ($72k BWL) holds his spot as the third import given the South African’s absence.

The Renegades clarified: “Shaun Marsh has remained in Perth ahead of the birth of his third child. South African batsman Rilee Rossouw will also miss the match against the Strikers after suffering a hamstring injury against the Scorchers.”

After the Stars’ win over Hobart on Monday night, Marcus Stoinis ($139k BAT/BWL) revealed he’s close to a return to bowling following a side strain sustained last month which has restricted him.

Stoinis said: “I’m really close (to bowling). I’m fit. I just haven’t had a chance to actually bowl in the nets. I need to get the body moving so I feel good.”

Also the Stars confirmed Nic Maddinson ($87k BAT) has suffered an ankle sprain, which is why he missed Monday’s game.

Daniel Sams ($199k BAT/BWL) suffered a delayed onset concussion in the Thunder’s loss to Brisbane on Monday night, ruling him out of the bowling innings.

Thunder coach Shane Bond told Fox Cricket: “Samsy is OK. He’s just got a bit of a headache.”

Chris Lynn ($135k BAT) was also deployed as the X-factor after his hamstring injury sustained less than two weeks ago and said he felt good.

Lynn said: “It’s gone well. I got through tonight, that’s the main thing. I’m doing the right thing now, got the ice pack on and get back in to some rehab tomorrow. Then we’re back on the 7^th (January vs Stars).”

Keemo Paul’s ($105k BAT/BWL) time with Hobart is over, with a hamstring injury leading to both parties deciding to cut short his stay.

The Hurricanes said in a statement: “Have come to the mutual decision that Paul will return home to Guyana to continue his recovery. The decision to return home will be the best for Paul’s overall wellbeing.”

Sixers captain Daniel Hughes ($100k BAT) insisted the decision to leave out Steve O’Keefe ($117k BWL) and Jackson Bird ($127k BWL) on Sunday was purely rotation and not related to injury.

Hughes said: “They’re sweet. We just thought with back-to-back games it’s a good time to manage our squad/players. We got a game into Ball and Popey.”

TOMORROW

We’ll learn the Scorchers-Sixers squads for Wednesday’s game. Given the Sixers play a one-off game in Perth, this may be a flag for a rest for a key player.
