Injured Faulkner ruled out, Denly added, Heat give Morkel update

Hurricanes bowler James Faulkner is out injured while Joe Denly got added to the Brisbane Heat squad for Wednesday’s game and the club provided an update on Morne Morkel.

Joe Denly ($125k BAT) was named in the Brisbane Heat’s extended 17-man squad for Wednesday’s clash with Hobart.

The Heat said in a statement: “Denly completes two-weeks mandatory hotel quarantine tonight in Perth and will be whisked to Brisbane on a morning flight in order to link with his new Brisbane teammates ahead of the Hobart match.”

Morne Morkel ($138k BWL) remains out for the Heat with an ankle issue and the fact he’s in quarantine in Sydney.

Heat coach Darren Lehmann: “Morne will keen to get up and going once he re-joins us in the hub so we will get working with him & map out the best way forward for him to resume playing.”

James Faulkner ($181k BWL) is out for the Hurricanes with his injured hamstring.

The Canes said in a statement: “The only change to the squad is the omission of James Faulkner, who came from the field midway through bowling his second over of Sunday night’s game after injuring his hamstring.”
