Brisbane Heat confirmed that Chris Lynn will miss at least six BBL|10 matches with his hamstring injury, while Will Jacks was dropped for the Hobart Hurricanes with Dawid Malan finally named.
Chris Lynn’s ($135k BAT) short-term future was finally confirmed with the Heat revealing he’ll miss a series of games due to a hamstring injury with a view to returning by January 14.
The Heat statement said: “Lynn is targeting a return to playing for the Heat’s Melbourne leg from January 14 after scans prior to Christmas revealed a lower grade strain.”
Lewis Gregory ($175k BAT/BWL) may come into the Heat side, having finished his two-wek quarantine on Christmas Day but he’ll need to prove his conditioned to play.
The Heat statement said: “A decision on whether he plays tomorrow night will be held until just prior to the start of play after he meets with medical and coaching staff.”
Another flag for SuperCoaches is Lachy Pfeffer ($42k WKP/BAT) has been named in the extended 17-man Heat squad.
Heat squad: Bartlett, Bazley, Bryant, Cooper, Gregory, Heazlett, Kuhnemann, Lawrence, Laughlin, Peirson, Pfeffer, Milenko, Steketee, Sully, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Wildermuth, Wood
Dawid Malan ($175k BAT) has come into the Hurricanes’ 18-man squad for the game against the Heat, with Will Jacks ($109k BAT/BWL) dropped out due to the number of imports.
With Jacks dropping out, Malan’s position in the batting line-up has caused the most discussion, with speculation Ben McDermott ($126k WKP/BAT) could open and the Englishman play first drop.
Canes coach Adam Griffith said: “We’ll have a look closer to the game. He’s a quality batter in our top six. With only four overs in the power play he can build after the power play and then explode.”
Hurricanes squad: Boland, Botha, David, Ellis, Faulkner, Handscomb, Ingram, Malan, McDermott, Meredith, Moody, Owen, Parker, Paul, Short, Wakim, Winter, Wright
