Marsh ‘available to bowl’, Billings 50-50 straight up, Harris & Moises out

Mitch Marsh has declared he’s close to a return to bowling, while Sam Billings is itching to play straight out of quarantine for the Thunder and there’s a few BBL-relevant Test squad developments.
UPDATES
Mitch Marsh ($139k BAT/BWL) says he’ll be available to bowl for the Scorchers’ next game against the Strikers on December 28 having played three games after an ankle injury.
Marsh said: “I’ll be available to bowl, probably next game, if all goes to plan. Hopefully I’ll be right to go next game as a bowler.”
Sydney Thunder import Sam Billings (160k WKP/BAT) gets out of quarantine on Christmas Day and he might be ready for their game on Boxing Day.
Thunder captain Callum Ferguson said: “We think he might be right in the next game, maybe. It’s 50-50. Don’t expect anything. We hear he wants to get straight into it.”
It’s likely Billings will take the gloves when available, so Baxter Holt ($42k WKP/BAT) would make way.
The fitness of Sean Abbott ($219k BWL) has been proved after a calf issue but he won’t link up with the Test squad for the Boxing Day Test.
CA explained: “Abbott spent time in Sydney outside the team’s bio-secure hub to recover from injury. CA’s bio-security protocols do not allow him to re-join the squad in time for the Boxing Day Test.” It’s unlikely that’ll enable him to play for the Sixers.
Moises Henriques ($100k BAT/BWL) and Marcus Harris ($62k BAT) will also remain with the Australia Test and be unavailable for the Sixers and the Renegades.
TOMORROW
Expect a quiet day, although we’ll speak to Stars coach David Hussey about Marcus Stoinis’ ($168k BAT/BWL) availability.
