DEBUTANT ALERT
Sydney will offer a debut to Zac Foot (AF $170k SC $123k MID/FWD) who was pick 51 at the 2018 AFL Draft.
Swans coach John Longmire said: “He’s a very good hard running player. He deserves an opportunity, he’s been playing well at the reserves level and we hope to see him in our forward half.”
The Giants have named mature-age midfield/forward Tom Hutchesson (AF $170k SC $117k MID/FWD).
He is a 25-year-old 177cm forward and was pick 65 of the 2019 AFL Draft.
FALLEN SAINT
Saints midfielder/forward Jade Gresham (AF $590k $457k MID/FWD) will be out of action for an extended period of time due to a stress fracture in his lower back, which may create some opportunities for rookies.
St Kilda Chief Operating Officer Simon Lethlean said: “Jade reported soreness in his back following Monday night’s game against Geelong, with scans unfortunately showing signs of a stress fracture.
“It is disappointing for the club and for Jade personally, but the best course of action is an extended period of rest.
“Thankfully, the injury has been discovered relatively early but until a period of rest is completed and scans are re-done in six or so weeks, then we will need to treat it conservatively.”
OTHERS
The Crows provided a secondary update on Tom Doedee’s (AF $529k SC $425k DEF) hamstring injury.
Adelaide Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said: “Tom Doedee has injured his left hamstring in the fourth quarter, lunging forward at speed for a ground ball in a contest. Both (him & Lynch) will undergo scans in the coming days.”
Eagles rookie Harry Edwards (AF $170k SC $123k DEF) may return after concussion. West Coast’s website wrote: Has pulled up well from his concussion after sitting out last round and is expected to be available if he gets through main training.”
Fellow Eagle Jamaine Jones (AF $273k SC $161k FWD) has been ruled out for the season after undergoing further surgery on his hamstring.
TOMORROW
Ken Hinkley, Chris Scott and Adam Simpson will speak to the media. Round 12 starts in Perth while teams will be named for Friday’s Geelong-Port game.
