Legends, here’s the lowdown for your SuperCoach vice captaincy and captaincy options in Round 4.
Here’s how I rate the top Captaincy options this weekend.
Nick Daicos vs Lions – Last time these two met Daicos went 170+, but a Berry tag is possible. High ceiling, keep an eye on the matchup before locking him in.
Harry Sheezel vs Carlton – This young man could go nuts here. Great draw and building momentum, worth a serious VC look.
Jordan Dawson vs Fremantle – Fresh off a week off, expect explosive energy. If he gets midfield minutes early, he’s a genuine top-10 scoring option.
Luke Jackson vs Adelaide – His points depend on whether he spends more time in the ruck or midfield. Keep an eye on rotations—midfield minutes = huge ceiling.
Zak Butters vs Richmond – My VC locked. Richmond’s permeable structure will give him space and freedom, massive ceiling for points.
Brodie Grundy vs West Coast – Matt Flynn won’t bother him, expect Grundy to dominate the ruck and score heavily.
Max Gawn vs Gold Coast – I would personally steer clear against Witts. Tough matchup, historically a 90-100 against GCS
Noah Anderson vs Melbourne – Could hit 130+ if he finds space. Elite player, I expect a bounce back monster score.
Marcus Bontempelli vs Essendon – My captain. Prime matchup, elite form, and Essendon’s defense won’t cap him—he should dominate. 150+
Tim English vs Essendon – Not risky at all. Wright could bother him, but still expecting a solid 120+.
Sam Darcy vs Essendon – Primed for a breakout game, could realistically kick 10 goals against Essendon. Massive scoring potential.
Bailey Smith/Max Holmes vs Hawks – Love the upside here but Hawks can be restrictive. Midfield minutes + goal threat make them both a strong pick.
- Captain: Marcus Bontempelli – safe, elite, and matchup-proof. My perma-captain.
- VC: Zak Butters – freedom to rack up major points against an insipid Tigers midfield.
