The injury news in coming in as the clubs publish their weekly injury reports on Tuesday across the AFL.
West Coast has listed Milan Murdock’s timeline to return from a moderate grade hamstring injury as “TBC”.
Murdock reported awareness during West Coast’s win over North Melbourne on Sunday, with the Eagles to assess the injury over the next few days before providing a timeline, hinting at a longer stint out.
Eagles High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said: “Unfortunately, Milan felt some awareness in his hamstring during the match and scans have shown a moderate‑grade injury. We’ll get a better sense of timeframes as the week goes on.”
West Coast coach Andrew McQualter revealed Liam Baker should be OK despite a late ankle knock. He told 7NewsPerth on Monday: “Bakes looks like he’s pulled up OK and we’re pretty confident for next week, which is terrific.”
Hayden Young remains unavailable for Fremantle with his hamstring injury. Fremantle Director of Performance Adam Beard said: “We’ve had a look at the scans and are looking at around about two to three weeks for him.
“We’re just trying to collect a little bit more information there, but he’s progressing well.”
Jaeger O’Meara is a test to return from a hamstring injury which might put on some pressure for midfield spots.
Sydney has listed Isaac Heeney as a test to return from hamstring tightness after their bye. The Swans injury report said: “Isaac completed a running conditioning session over the weekend in his recovery from his hamstring tightness. He is expected to return to team training throughout the BYE.”
St Kilda rookie Charlie Banfield will be sidelined after a shoulder dislocation in the VFL, while Anthony Caminiti will miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the AFL side. Jack Macrae (knee) will miss another 2 games too.
The Suns confirmed on Sunday that Christian Petracca will be out for the “medium term” with a hamstring injury.
Port Adelaide coach Josh Carr has revealed Connor Rozee will miss 12-15 weeks with his high-grade hamstring tendon rupture.
Port confirmed on Monday the degree of the injury for Rozee but only stated he’d be out for an “extended period”, with Carr stating on AFL360: “He’ll go in for surgery this week and get it repaired. He’s probably looking at a timeline, I guess, of 12-15 weeks.”
The Power also revealed Miles Bergman will miss their Round 3 game with West Coast due to a sprain to the medial ankle, along with bruising of the heel.
The Western Bulldogs announced midfielder Tom Liberatore will be sidelined for at least the next fortnight with a hamstring injury.
Bulldogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “During the weekend’s game, Tom developed some low-level hamstring tightness. Scans have since confirmed a low-grade hamstring injury.
“Tom won’t play in the Round 4 game against the Bombers, and we will work to confirm return to play plan across the next period of time.”
Richmond ruckman Toby Nankervis will be out for 6-8 weeks with a hamstring injury.
Tigers High Performance Manager Ben Serpell said: “Toby Nankervis is probably the most serious out of them all,”
“It was a contact injury, similar to the mechanism that Harry Armstrong sustained a hamstring injury with last year, but nowhere near as bad, thankfully. Unfortunately, that’s going to see him on the sidelines for six to eight weeks.”
Tigers forward Tom Lynch (hamstring) has been ruled out for 4-5 weeks while Nathan Broad will miss one week with a calf injury.
It’s been reported Brisbane young gun Dan Annable suffered a shoulder injury during the Lions’ match sim on their bye and will miss 4 months.
Adelaide has confirmed Rory Laird will miss this weekend’s game and Josh Worrell faces a fitness test.
The Crows update said: “After playing out Friday night’s game with soreness, Rory Laird will miss 1-2 weeks with a minor soleus strain in his lower calf, while Josh Worrell – who also played out Friday’s game with calf soreness – will be assessed on his availability for Round Three’s game against Geelong later this week.”
Adelaide has also revealed Callum Ah Chee will miss 6-8 weeks with a hamstring injury and Toby Murray is a test to return from a back problem. Sid Draper (ankle) is also listed as a test.
Geelong’s Patrick Dangerfield will miss 1-2 weeks with a low grade calf injury after experiencing soreness against Fremantle in Round 1.
GWS has listed tagger Toby Bedford (hamstring) along with forwards Aaron Cadman (pelvis) and Brent Daniels (hamstring) all as tests for this weekend’s game.
Carlton revealed Adam Saad (hamstring) is available for selection while Adam Cerra faces a test following a hamstring problem.
Essendon defender Mason Redman will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks with the Dons confirming a tear to his left meniscus. He’s already undergone surgery.
Ruckman Vigo Visentini will miss 6-8 weeks with a hamstring injury suffered in the VFL, which assists Lachie Blakiston’s job security. Jordan Ridley will return from a calf injury via the VFL this weekend.
