Mattaes Phillipou is listed as a test to play in Round 2, while Port’s Todd Marshall is expected to be available after an ankle sprain.
St Kilda put out their injury report on Tuesday, confirming Phillipou had suffered a corked quad but will face a test.
Saints EGM of Football Lenny Hayes said: “Mattaes will be required to pass a fitness test during Thursday’s main session.”
Jack Macrae has been ruled out due to an MCL sprain. Hayes said: “We’ll monitor Jack’s knee as it heals and provide updates where appropriate.”
The Saints said Rowan Marshall is “progressing well through concussion protocols”.
Port didn’t list Todd Marshall on their injury list, with the club saying he is expected to be available. He had undergone scans on his ankle but has been given the all-clear.
Port’s update said: “Todd Marshall has recovered well after rolling his ankle during Sunday’s AFL game and is expected to be available.”
Sydney have confirmed Errol Gulden will miss 4 months of football, requiring surgery after a right shoulder dislocation.
The Swans also listed Isaac Heeney as a test after a hamstring scare on the weekend. Sydney’s update said: “Isaac was removed from the field in the 4th quarter against Brisbane due to hamstring tightness.
“His MRI showed no structural damage and he will be assessed further ahead of tonight’s main training session. Test.”
Gold Coast’s Bailey Humphrey will face a fitness test after missing last game with a hamstring concern.
Suns head physio Andrew Weller said: “Bailey reported tightness in him hamstring and the decision was made it would be best to manage him last weekend. He will train fully this week and a decision on his availability will be made closer to game day.”
Brisbane revealed Hugh McCluggage is in the mix to return from a calf injury. The Lions said: “McCluggage, who was sidelined last week with a calf strain which occurred in Opening Round, will need to train strongly next week to get the green light.”
Adelaide’s Sid Draper will miss 1-2 weeks after rolling his ankle in a SANFL trial game. Mitch Hinge is listed as 3-4 weeks with a back injury too.
Small forward Isaac Kako is expected to be available for selection for Essendon which may cause a squeeze for spots.
There could be some change at Arden Street with North trio George Wardlaw (hamstring), Charlie Spargo (concussion) and Riley Hardeman (ankle) all available for selection.
Bulldogs youngster Lachy Carmichael is a test to play after a corkie in the VFL. Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “In the VFL game last week, Lachy received a heavy blow to his knee causing a significant corkie to the muscle that sits just above his knee.
“He had expected pain and swelling associated with this injury which impacted his ability to train, but he is showing good improvements this week and will be put through his paces at main training to determine his availability.”
Young Melbourne ruck Kalani White has recovered from glandular fever and returning to contact work at Demons training.
Head of High Performance Selwyn Griffith said: “Kalani has recovered from glandular fever. We’re still building his tolerance to high intensity training and skills. He’s had clearance now to start contact training, and so we’ll build his skill involvement over the coming weeks.”
