The Perth Scorchers announced a 14-man squad to face the Melbourne Stars at Optus Stadium on Saturday night, with Josh Inglis returning after CA workload management.
The Scorchers have named both Finn Allen and Mitch Marsh after neither fielded against the Melbourne Renegades on Thursday.
Scorchers batsman Allen offered an update on his fitness after not fielding during Thursday’s win over the Renegades. He said: “I had a little bit of a hammy niggle on this side in Hobart earlier in the year. It was a bit of a scare, just cramp, but we didn’t want to take the risk.”
Marsh was also absent from the field. Allen said: “I think just an external blow to the heel as we saw the footage. I think he’ll be OK.”
Allen did reveal that he expects Inglis to return for Saturday’s clash with the Stars after missing on Thursday due to CA workload management. He said: “We’ve got a pretty competitive squad. Ingo coming back in on Saturday bolsters that too.”

UPDATES
Sydney Sixers batsman Steve Smith offered an insight into his mentality ahead of their final two games, hinting he’s not going to rest. Smith said: “I wouldn’t have thought I’d be resting any, I will play until (I retire), I don’t think I have rested for a game in 15 years. I am sure I will try and play everything until I am ready to finish up playing.”
