The squads for Sunday’s double-header were revealed with a significant injury blow for a well-owned Scorchers star, while the Adelaide Strikers confirmed a new signing.

The Melbourne stars have named an unchanged 14-player squad for Sunday’s Melbourne Derby at the MCG against the Melbourne Renegades.

The Perth Scorchers will be without batsman-wicketkeeper Finn Allen due to a finger injury, replaced in their 14-player squad to face the Adelaide Strikers at Optus Stadium on Sunday night by specialist gloveman Joel Curtis.
On Allen, the Scorchers update said: “The Scorchers will be without big hitting import Finn Allen for the encounter, who injured his finger in the side’s win over Hobart on Thursday.”

The Strikers named a 13-player squad, revealing the addition of South African spinner Tabraiz Shamsi who is included. The left-arm wrist spinner joins after taking 4 wickets in 5 games with an economy rate of 8.11 for Gulf Giants in the ILT20.
Pakistani recruit Hassan Ali and wicketkeeper Harry Nielsen both are omitted.
