The Sydney Thunder and Perth Scorchers squads for Tuesday’s Round 4 opener were confirmed, along with Shadab Khan’s upcoming availability after a Pakistan call-up.

The Sydney Thunder announced their 14-man squad to face the Perth Scorchers at ENGIE Stadium on Tuesday with one change. Spinning all-rounder Tom Andrews is added, with young all-rounder Aidan O’Connor dropping out.
The game will be English left-arm quick Reece Topley’s last for the Thunder before he jets to South Africa for the SA20.
Shadab Khan will play this game, plus another in Round 5, before departing for Pakistan duty for the T20I series against Sri Lanka from January 7-11.
The Thunder confirmed Shadab’s travel movements that on Monday: “Shadab will depart for Sri Lanka on January 4 after Thunder’s clash with the Hurricanes at ENGIE Stadium and return for the Sydney Smash on January 16 at the SCG. He will also be available for finals, should Thunder qualify.”

The Scorchers named their 14-man squad to face the Thunder, with wicketkeeper-batsman Josh Inglis returning from the Test squad. Fast bowler Bryce Jackson drops out.
Inglis will only play this game before re-joining the Test squad on New Year’s Eve, meaning he misses Perth’s second game of their double.

The Hobart Hurricanes confirmed that Tim David’s season is officially over. Hobart’s update said: “Tim David sustained a grade two right hamstring strain during his recent BBL match. As a result, David has been ruled out for the remainder of the BBL.”
