The Hobart Hurricanes named their 14-man squad to face the Melbourne Renegades at Ninja Stadium in Hobart on Monday, making three changes.
SQUAD NEWS
Local replacement player Hugo Burdon, who is a right-handed Queensland batter, comes into the group along with Matthew Wade after a minor injury and Beau Webster, having been released from the Test squad for one game. Webster will re-join the Test squad on New Year’s Eve ahead of the fifth Test, meaning he’ll only play this game for now.
Jackson Bird and Will Prestwidge are both omitted, while Tim David is sidelined with injury. On David, Hobart said: “Tim David is likely to miss an extended part of the tournament with a hamstring injury, with the full extent of the injury to be confirmed in the coming days. A statement will be provided to media once more is known.”
Burdon has been added to the squad to replace fast bowler Iain Carlisle who has suffered a season-ending hamstring injury.
Hobart’s update said: “Iain Carlisle, who is being replaced by Burdon, will miss the majority of BBL|15 due to a hamstring injury, which occurred during the Wilson Homes Cricket Tasmania Premier League match earlier in December. Updates on his return to play will be communicated to the media once more information becomes available.”
