The Melbourne Renegades have moved to secure Perth Scorchers veteran Andrew Tye on a local replacement player (LRP) deal for the injured Will Salzmann, according to Code Sports.
Tye hadn’t been re-signed by the Scorchers for BBL|15 following a campaign where the 38-year-old showed signs of age catching up with him, playing 6 games for 5 wickets.
The long-term Scorchers death bowling gun also went at an economy rate of 10.2 in BBL|14.
But the Renegades have swooped for his signature, having impressed in the Abu Dhabi T10 League over the past few days.
Tye has taken 7 wickets in 4 games for the Vista Riders in the fast-paced white-ball format, fresh from playing for Australia in the Hong Kong International Sixes.
