Popular SuperCoach pick Mitch Owen has suffered a leg injury with less than 3 weeks until the opening BBL|15 game.
Owen was substituted out of Tasmania’s Sheffield Shield game against New South Wales in Sydney. He had bowled 4 overs, returning 0-26 on day one.
Cricket Tasmania put out a statement on Sunday that read: “Mitch picked up an injury during the first day of the Sheffield Shield yesterday.
“He was subbed out for Charlie Wakim as part of the Shield’s new substitute rule. Updates on his return to play will be communicated in due course.”
The Hobart Hurricanes all-rounder was a revelation at the top of the batting order in BBL|14.
He’s subsequently the most owned player in SuperCoach heading into the new season, with the Hurricanes having Round 1 and Round 3 doubles.
