Perth Scorchers coach Adam Voges says Jhye Richardson’s return from a shoulder injury is looking “really positive” after 2 games back at WA Premier Cricket level.
Richardson took 3-38 from 10 overs in his second game back for Fremantle on the weekend, after finishing with 0-30 from 8 overs in his first game following 10 months out after shoulder surgery.
The Scorchers quick’s return to fitness is timely with the BBL around the corner, although he has spoken about his desire to play red-ball cricket this summer.
Voges provided an update on Richardson’s progress earlier this week after his second game back for the Port Boys.
“Jhye played Premier Cricket for Fremantle again on the weekend,” Voges told reporters.
“He’s pulled up well which is pleasing and promising for him. I think these first few games for him were always a big milestone.
“The fact he’s got through a couple of weeks now unscathed was positive. We’ll continue to work with Cricket Australia around what his return to play at a higher level looks like.
