The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has green lighted the availability of seven BBL contracted players after fears last month they’d be denied clearances to play in the Aussie T20 comp.
BBL clubs have gone hard on Pakistani recruitment this summer, with the national team set for no games during December and January, opening up availability.
Babar Azam (Sydney Sixers), Muhammad Rizwan (Melbourne Renegades), Haris Rauf (Melbourne Stars) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (Brisbane Heat) are some of the names tied to BBL clubs.
The PCB had last month suspended all no-objection certificates for players who want to play in T20 leagues out of Pakistan without notice nor reason.
Amid this there was speculation of a Pakistan T20I series in January against Sri Lanka ahead of the T20 World Cup starting in February.
Cricket Australia sought clarity from the PCB on the situation given the potential impact to the BBL with seven players contracted.
SEN’s Tom Morris has reported that the PCB has now given the green light for those seven players to play in the BBL.
That comes as Pakistan named squads for upcoming T20I series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and ODI series against South Africa and Sri Lanka in October and November.
Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are named in both squads, with Haris Rauf selected in the ODI squad and a reserve for the T20I squad.
