Sydney Sixers quick Sean Abbott has picked up an injury in NSW’s Sheffield Shield clash with Victoria, forcing him to be the first-ever player substituted out of a Shield game.
NSW Cricket’s update said: “Abbott has been substituted out of NSW’s Sheffield Shield match against Victoria after splitting webbing on his right hand.

“Abbott attempted to field a ball in his bowling follow through when the injury occurred. Charlie Stobo has entered the match as an injury replacement.”
While the injury has ended Abbott’s game, it’s unlikely it’ll impact his BBL availability, with the first game 2 months away.
