The weekly injury reports are starting to trickle out with key updates across the board to help guide your Round 20 trade targets and trade-outs.
Geelong coach Chris Scott has provided a positive update on Tom Stewart’s prospects of playing in Round 20 after being subbed out with a jarred knee.
Scott told AFL 360: “Seems to be fine. The feedback we got post-game has been re-affirmed this morning. He jarred his knee. He’s had a history of a PCL. He was actually in the club very early this morning walking around in good spirits. They think he’ll be fine.
“My tolerance for players to continue to play while they’re sore, is lower than it’s ever been. It used to be a badge of honour. “
Port captain Connor Rozee also spoke on Monday about his chances of playing in the upcoming Showdown after missing last game with a hand issue.
Rozee said: “If we are all happy, I’ll be good to go. It will be about the pain threshold. It is a broken bone so there always will be a little bit (of pain) there. Fortunately, it is in a decent spot. We will reassess after we finish training on Wednesday.
“For the past week, the plan was to give the hand as much rest as possible. From (Tuesday), that (work with footballs etc) will pick up. Everyone (will have a say in the final decision). Clearly, I am the one who feels the pain. I’ll have most of the say in this one, but the conversations will be with everyone.”
More to come…
