Tuesday’s injury reports are starting to trickle out with key updates across the board to help guide your Round 13 trade targets and trade-outs.
Hawthorn defender James Sicily’s wretched run has got worse with the Club revealing he’ll miss their next two games at least due to a hip/abdominal injury.
Hawthorn head doctor Liam West said: “Unfortunately, James’ injury has flared up post the Collingwood game on Friday night after showing improvement in the weeks prior.
“Having played every game this season, we were always looking to give James an extended break around the bye, so we’ve decided to bring this forward.”
In good news, St Kilda have listed Jack Macrae as a test to return from a punctured lung.
The Saints update said: “Macrae and Stocker will eye a potential Round 14 return, with the pair required to get through main training early next week to prove their fitness going into the Thursday night clash against the Western Bulldogs.”
GWS ruckman Kieren Briggs will miss 3 games due to an ankle injury which flared up in their Round 12 game against Richmond.
Briggs has been battling knocks throughout the season, with GWS coach Adam Kingsley revealing he had an injury concern after Saturday’s game.
GWS confirmed it would sideline him in Tuesday’s injury report that said: “Number one ruck Kieren Briggs will miss up to three weeks, as he manages an ongoing ankle issue.”
The Giants also revealed midfielder Finn Callaghan is “tracking ahead of schedule” from a shoulder injury, listing him as 1-2 weeks.
Keidean Coleman will miss 5 weeks with a fresh injury following one game back after an ACL injury.
Brisbane’s injury report said: “Coleman sustained a quad strain while training over the weekend and is expected to be sidelined for approximately five weeks and look to return after the bye.”
Essendon provided an update on cheapies Saad El-Hawli and Zach Reid who are both still 4-5 weeks off due to hamstring injuries.
Port provided good news on Jason Horne-Francis who has been out with a hamstring injury. The Power update said: “Horne-Francis won’t feature this weekend but is expected to return for the side’s Round 14 game against Melbourne.”
Richmond have listed Jayden Short as being 1 week away from a return. Tigers high performance manager Ben Serpell said: “Last week we said he was about 1 to 2 weeks away, and I’m happy to say that is still the case.
“He is still at least one game away, and he is progressing well and starting to get some real inroads in his training sessions.”
