Tuesday’s injury reports are starting to trickle out with key updates across the board to help guide your Round 7 trade targets and trade-outs.
GWS have ruled out small forward Brent Daniels for a further 3-4 weeks due to an abdominal strain. The Giants update said: “Daniels will remain sidelined for three to four weeks as he continues to recover from an abdominal strain.
“The small forward will continue to be assessed by the medical team as he gradually returns to full training over the coming weeks.”
Stephen Coniglio (glute) is a test, needing to prove his fitness at full training later this week.
The Bulldogs confirmed Sam Darcy will spend time on the sidelines with a knee injury, although it’s not an ACL as first feared.
Dogs Head of Sports Medicine Chris Bell said: “We are currently working through opinions and options on how to best manage Sam, and will update his return-to-play timeline in the coming days.”
Carlton revealed Harry McKay (concussion) is back in full training, which might impact their tall forward option and Tom De Koning.
Lachlan Cowan (hamstring) is also back into full training, with his return a potential concern for downgrade option Matthew Carroll.
Mattaes Phillipou is now listed as 1-2 weeks from a return from injury. The Saints update said: “Phillipou’s return to football is hopefully inching closer, as the midfielder continues to rebuild his training volume ahead of running out for the first time in 2025.”
Callum Mills is also listed as 1-2 weeks on the Sydney injury list. The Swans update said: “Callum has completed a block of rehab skills and conditioning running. He will rejoin team skills this week.”
Melbourne has listed Steven May (groin) as a test. Demons AFL High Performance Manager Selwyn Griffith said: “We’ll assess how he pulls up from training today to determine his availability for Thursday night.”
Adelaide forward Josh Rachele could return this round from a ribs injury. The Crows update said: “Rachele has maintained his running fitness and progressed to contact training in the past week and will face a fitness test before the Crows take on Fremantle in Perth on Friday.”
Port provided an update on Ollie Wines who was subbed out of the game against Sydney. The Power update said: “The midfielder has consulted specialists and is expected to train as normal and be available for selection this week.”
Freo bigman Luke Jackson won’t return this week but is only another game away. Dockers High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said: “He won’t be playing this week. He would have been close, but we are preparing him to play the following week.”
