Chris Lynn was ruled out Wednesday’s game for the Strikers due to a hamstring injury, while there were updates on Cooper Connolly, Aaron Hardie, Matthew Short and Chris Jordan.
TEAM NEWS
Lynn wasn’t part of the Strikers’ 14-man squad for the game against the Sydney Sixers at Adelaide Oval. Jake Weatherald replaces him in the 14 following illness.
Strikers captain Matthew Short was named but spoke about his status after missing several games with a broken toe. Short didn’t bowl on his return.
“I was a little bit sore,” Short said. “It’d obviously been a couple of weeks since I’d been out there. With a broken toe, it’s hard to get time on your feet. It was a shock to the body but it was a good type of sore.
“It’s still a bit sore. I took a couple of painkillers before bating, not so much before the fielding innings. It’s not too bad to run on, it’s more slowing down and the pressure through the toes. But it’s good to go, I should be fine.”
Short also addressed their second spinner, with D’Arcy Short stepping in with a haul of wickets for Cameron Boyce last game.
“It balances the team out a bit more,” Short said. “Looking at the Sixers, they don’t match up as well against spin.
“If we’re looking at bringing in Boycey, not too sure yet. Darcy bowled well the other night. There’s options which is nice.”
