Ben McDermott has been ruled out of the Hobart Hurricanes’ clash with the Melbourne Renegades in the first game of their Round 8 double at Ninja Stadium.

Ben McDermott isn’t in the Hurricanes’ 14-man squad for Tuesday’s game, listed as “managed” after experiencing hamstring tightness in their last game and being demoted down the batting order.
Hobart’s update said: “McDermott is being managed for this match after injuring his hamstring.”
Nathan Ellis suffered a heavy knock to his head on the boundary last game but played on. Hobart’s update clarified: “Nathan Ellis passed concussion protocols and is available for selection.”
