UPDATES
Hobart Hurricanes assistant coach James Hopes offered an update on Matthew Wade who has missed their past few games with a calf injury.
Hopes said: “We’re hoping Matty Wade is back and available for selection. I’d assume if he’s available, he comes straight back in. Outside of that, I wouldn’t expect any big changes… I’m thinking (Wade) might be a lock to come back.”
The Canes assistant coach also spoke highly about Chris Jordan and Nathan Ellis, who loom as key trade-in targets for Hobart’s double later in the season.
Hopes said: “They’re in the top percentile in the world when it comes to death bowling. What they’ve done in the surge overs and at the end has really made a difference in the last 2 games.”
Hopes also heaped praise on quick Billy Stanlake, who is back from injury this season. He said: “It’s been a slow burn with us and Billy. We knew coming into this season he was fully fit and bowling fast. He’s bowled fast in the games he’d played so far.
“The more he plays, the more back into the rhythm he gets. Hopefully he’s a game-changer for us in coming games.”
Sixers spinner Akeal Hosein left the field after completed his 4 overs during the bowling innings in their win over the Heat on Sunday. He appeared to be limping but no update has been provided by the Sixers.
