Sydney Thunder have rounded out their full 18-player BBL|14 squad with the expected signing of right-arm NSW fast bowler Ryan Hadley.
Blacktown-born Hadley, 26, made his first-class debut for NSW in March 2023 and has played four Shield games for his state.
He is a former Australia Under-19 international who is eager to make an impact in lime green after earning his first full BBL contract, following replacement stints with both Thunder and the Sydney Sixers.
The seamer plays his club cricket with Manly-Warringah and has been in good form at Premier Cricket level.
He adds to their fast bowling options, including off-season signings Wes Agar and Lockie Ferguson, plus Nathan McAndrew, Liam Hatcher and Daniel Sams.
Sydney Thunder general manager Trent Copeland said: “Ryan joins us off the back of six to eight months of really exciting progress in his career.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to come in and challenge the guys who have been here for a long time.
“He’s developed a lot in recent times, particularly the consistency of the pace that he bowls and his changeups.
“This guy is ready, so we’re excited to give him a chance and hopefully he comes into our Thunder environment and grabs it with both hands.”
The Thunder’s bowling stocks are currently slightly decimated with Ferguson and Hatcher both sidelined with injuries, while McAndrew is making his return in the Shield this week.
Thunder kick off their season in Canberra on December 17 against the Adelaide Strikers, before returning to ENGIE Stadium for the Sydney Smash on December 21.
