It’s now or never, it’s the time of year where every move you’ve made all season comes down to a good old fashioned 1v1 in your cash league final!
That, or you’re looking for that sneaky rank rise in the last round to crack a rank milestone that is more flattering on the eye…
Well, what better way to help than to discuss the following 7 players who have the optimal fixture possible for their role! Some of these names are quite left field and are even super budget friendly to help those who find themselves in dire salary cap constraints…
Daniel Rioli – $497k (DEF)
Is this a cheeky chance to impress his former and probably future coach in Damian Hardwick once more? Even if you don’t like to play into narratives, it’s hard to go past his impressive recent form and he gets to play the Suns who are comfortably the easiest opposition for leaking points to opposition designator kickers. Over the last 5 weeks, they sit at conceding 17% more onto their opposition’s average points and that’s almost double the second best… He has shown he has ceiling as well with two 130+’s over his last 5 games and sometimes the spike score potential from a cheaper unique is all you need to get you over the line in your all important grand final!
Tom Stewart -$560k (DEF)
This pick screams perfection for this round. He has the dream role starting as an inside midfielder where the Eagles rank equal worst for conceding points to over the last 5 rounds. We just watched Patrick Cripps bully them at every stoppage, he drifts backs for intercepts and the occasional kick in and he even gets to play at GMHBA where his last 3 scores are 120, 121 and 115. The stars have aligned here for one of the safest scores you could ask for from a defender premium and it’s definitely someone you can bank on in your big dance this weekend.
Lachie Whitfield – $629k (DEF)
Whitfield’s hot form tailed off slightly after being tagged in the Brisbane game for his 97 before a 106 last week after a killer first half, although there is no denying the form that this AA bound defender is in! He has gone 97+ in EVERY one of his games since his bye…. Not only does he get the chance to continue this, but he has the chance to continue this with a very capable VC/C score too. Over the last 5 games, the Bulldogs have on average conceded 10% more to designator kickers and their averages and because Whitfield has averaged 119 since his bye, there is every chance this could be a 130+ score beckoning from a relatively unique player in grand final week.
Jack Crisp – $433k (DEF/MID)
There has been times throughout the year where Crispy has flirted with genuine Top 10 defender potential but along with Collingwood’s severe drop off, Jack Crisp’s SuperCoach scores have mirrored this. Luckily for him, he finds himself matched up against statistically the worst midfield opposition in the Dee’s this week who on average concede 10% more than average for an inside midfielder. I think this spells a very reliable tonne this week with the scope for even more at a great price!
Noah Anderson – $502k (MID)
Anderson featured heavily in this article last week and he did not disappoint with his 122 points. I’m doubling down here as he arguably has just as good a fixture this week as he did last week. He gets the chance against the Tigers albeit at the MCG, I think there is the potential for even a sneaky VC type score beckoning here. He has only played at the MCG on 3 career occasions for a high score of 133, although after watching the performance that the Tigers midfield dished up last week, I’m confident Noah can cash in even further than the 8% extra they’ve been giving up SuperCoach score wise to insider midfielders over the last 5 weeks.
Jeremy Cameron – $432k (FWD)
Cameron certainly fits the high upside player, in a budget friendly bracket who has a superb fixture. He gets a chance to play the Eagles on his home deck in a must win game for Geelong in order to lock away their double chance. Jeremy’s form has been solid enough although the fact the Eagles have given up on average an extra 15% of SuperCoach points to key forwards over the last 5 games and that the game is at GMHBA stadium where he has had 2 of his highest scores all year at is what really excites me. Those scores were 140 and 120 so to me it, it certainly screams a fun one-week punt to ride you home if you’re feeling risky.
Elijah Hollands – $402k (MID/FWD)
This one is as left field and as niche as it gets but for such a cheap price with the dream opposition for his role, I’m expecting a safe 90-110+ and that’s something we haven’t been able to buy at F6 this year. Hollands hopped back into form against the Eagles last week but I’m more licking my lips at the Saints matchup! For wing defenders, the Saints have on average given up 23% extra to the opposition ‘s SuperCoach score and to put that into perspective about how absurd this is, the next worst is only 8%… It’s a must win game for the Blues and with the injury crisis they are dealing with, you can tell far more weight have been placed on players like Hollands to deliver the goods, so expect him to deliver for your SuperCoach team as well.
Who to Jump Off? –
Now, I’m sure most people left engaged aren’t in the luxury business, but if you do still have a trade or two left, the following premiums have awful fixtures, and you will want to off load them this week to gain that maximum one week punt potential in your side. Those names are Luke Davies- Uniacke, Jy Simpkin, Lloyd Meek, Errol Gulden, Nick Blakey, Sam Walsh, Patrick Cripps, Caleb Serong, Andrew Brayshaw, Hayden Young, James Sicily and Bailey Dale who unfortunately all face extremely restrictive opposition for their role in their sides…
Goodluck everyone and bring that trophy home!
