If you are lucky enough to be in that hat chase then well done to you! If your focus is solely on fighting away in a prelim or GF this weekend the time to find the big scores is now.
Whether you are wearing a one or two week lens, it’s time to find those players who could hit the ceiling and get you the win.
Double Delight
Let’s have a look at the teams with the best two match ups coming and their best players that could get you not one, but two big scores.
Hawks: Rich, North
The best run home in the competition, Hawthorn will look to hit the finals firing. For those without Dylan Moore ($824k, Fwd) sitting at F5, he should be right at the top of your shopping list. The only other one who really sparks my interest is James Sicily ($810k, Def) who we know has a huge ceiling and could dine on some poor forward entries here.
Saints: Geel, Carl
Lets be honest, Rowan Marshall ($1.07m, Ruck) should already be in your team and if not, he needs to be. The safest captain option going at the moment (well along with Xerri). Jack Steele ($923k, Mid) deserves more respect as after a mid season slump, he has been super consistent. Jack Sinclair ($920k, Def/Mid) appears to be back to his best and is a huge target while NWM ($862k, Def) is certainly worth a thought.
Carl: WCE, STK
Although this run looks good on paper, it is hard to recommend anyone other than Nick Newman ($898k, Def) who appears to be finishing the year off well. You could take a punt on a Sam Walsh ($861k, Mid) or Patrick Cripps ($866k, Mid) but you couldn’t be confident.
GCS: Melb, Rich
Much talked about is the run of the Gold Coast Suns. What can we expect here? Well I would be willing to take the punt on Noah Anderson ($837k, Mid) and hope he can find one of those ceiling scores he can sometimes produces. Matt Rowell ($742k, Mid) has found some form again and would certainly be unique. Interestingly captain Touk Miller ($775k, Mid) could return this week and whether he is an option or impacts others only time will tell. Oh and of course if you don’t have Flanders…
Some final thoughts. Do not forget to look at the difficult match ups as well. The Giants are tough and particularly with the best tagger in the game at the moment. Buyer beware and potentially time to jump of the Freo mids this week. Interestingly the Bulldogs have a great match up this week, but the Giants after that. Who will get the tag? We will have to wait and see…
