One way to get ahead in AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach is monitoring role changes and midfield time. It’ll help justify trade-ins and trade-outs, so we’ve dug deep to offer some critical insights.
Crisp retains prime role, for now
Jack Crisp continues to get midfield time for Collingwood in the absence of Jordan De Goey and Tom Mitchell. Crisp never had more than 40% CBAs in the first seven rounds but has had 68% and 79% in the last two weeks, scoring 130/134 last round.
Keep an eye on Touk & Davies
Touk Miller had a season-low 43% CBAs against North, with Alex Davies getting 43% in his first game this year, and Bailey Humphrey having 39%. Miller scored 108/122. Keep an eye on this. Davies only played 58% TOG before being subbed out. Keep an eye on him, having scored 84/98 in that time.
Sheezel’s midfield/half-forward role
North’s midfield experiments continue although Harry Sheezel only attended 29% CBAs in his lower score of 71/86, alternating through half-forward. Tom Powell (43% CBAs) and Will Phillips (46%) also had some CBAs.
Amon thrives with Sicily out
With James Sicily out, Karl Amon led Hawthorn’s kick-ins, taking 7 of 11. However, it’s been Jack Scrimshaw who’s mostly impacted Amon’s kick-ins in recent weeks. Scrimshaw played on Mitch Owens in Sicily’s absence, freeing up Amon to score 111/118.
Other notes
- With Tom Liberatore out, Ed Richards resumed high CBAs at 93%, scoring 141/163. Before you jump on, he’d had high CBAs when Libba missed previously and didn’t score nearly as well.
- There’s a lot of trade interest in Dayne Zorko (5 kick-ins) who continues to share kick-in duties with Connor McKenna (4 kick-ins), with the Irishman now 3 games back. Zorko scored 109/117.
- After a “week off” as sub in Round 8, Nat Fyfe had a season-high 86% CBAs, yet scored only 58/60.
- Everyone noticed Christian Petracca was switched forward with devastating effect, kicking 5 goals for 134/134. He had 30% CBAs.
- Zac Fisher took 9 of North’s 19 kick-ins against Gold Coast, with Colby McKercher having 7. The latter is now injured, meaning Fisher could go bigger than his 103/140 if his kick-ins share increases.
