Bartlett bowled 10 overs for Gold Coast taking 0-12 with 4 maidens in their Queensland Premier Cricket two-day game against Sunshine Coast on Saturday.
The Heat bowler had hurt his back playing in the UK during their summer and been restricted to batsman-only duties with Gold Coast this season, meaning he hasn’t played for Queensland this Marsh Cup or Sheffield Shield season.
His return to bowling – as had previously been reported by Honeyball – is timely with BBL|13 less than three weeks away and the Heat having a Round 1 triple.
Bartlett also took 2 catches and then made 36* from 18 deliveries batting at 5 in the second innings.
In the same game, Matthew Kuhnemann took 0-7 from 7 overs with 4 maidens, while Hurricanes cheapie Ben McDermott’s good form was halted with scores of 3 and 0 for the game.

Strikers recruit D’Arcy Short made 43 in the second innings for Willetton, before making 19 from 10 balls and taking 0-22 (4) in Sunday morning’s T20s.

Scorchers cheapie Hamish McKenzie backed up his recent wicket-taking exploits with 57* from 90 balls with the bat for Subiaco Floreat, before taking 1-14 (4) in Sunday’s T20s.
Scorchers bat Nick Hobson was the star in Sunday morning’s T20s, blasting an electric 64* from 24 balls batting at 4 for Claremont-Nedlands with six sixes and three fours. In the afternoon T20 semis, Hobson made 33 from 28 balls. View our predicted Round 1 line-up for the Perth Scorchers
In NSW Premier Cricket, Thunder all-rounder Daniel Sams didn’t play in the first day of Randwick-Petersham’s two-day game against Mosman on Saturday.
In Victoria Premier Cricket, Renegades batsman Mackenzie Harvey’s struggles continued, managing only 2 from 5 balls for Carlton.
In Tasmania’s Premier League, Canes spinner Paddy Dooley took 4-54 (24.2) for University of Tasmania against Jake Weatherald’s Kingborough. Strikers bat Weatherald made 15 from 11.
With ongoing Sheffield Shield commitments, there wasn’t much else relevant out of NSW, Victoria and SA club cricket.
We don’t always like to pay too much attention to red-ball cricket in the Shield, but Stars all-rounder Beau Webster made 103 for Tasmania and took 2-30 against NSW.
