It was a relatively quiet Monday but the big news was Clayton Oliver being ruled out next round, while there was better news for Matthew Johnson and Samson Ryan.
UPDATES
Clayton Oliver (AF $990k SC $658k MID) has been ruled out of Melbourne’s Round 16 game due to his hamstring injury and he could miss more, listed as 1-2 weeks by the club.
Dees GM AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson said: “Clayton had follow-up scans on his hamstring last week, those scans – in combination with some of our objective markers – have shown he’s not quite ready to progress through the final stages of our return-to-play program. He’s continuing to integrate into team training as we continue to build him through those final stages of his hamstring rehabilitation program.”
Matthew Johnson (AF $481k SC $307k MID) limped off in the hands of trainers late in Fremantle’s game on the weekend but he’s all set to be available next round. Fremantle High Performance Manager Phil Merriman said: “Matty Johnson just got another cork, he’ll be fine to go.”
Richmond provided an injury update, revealing Dion Prestia will miss their next game against Brisbane with a calf strain.
But the Tigers revealed Samson Ryan will be available after an ankle issue, while Jacob Hopper was also available following a soleus injury.
