Round 11 is here with no doubles and no byes again, testing SuperCoaches skills in picking the best available side, which proved challenging in Round 10. With four games across four days, it’ll require good planning.
Melbourne Stars v Brisbane Heat
Monday 16 January, 7:15pm AEDT, MCG
Stars
Marcus Stoinis is in the Stars’ squad after missing a few games with a hamstring strain, so we’re assuming he’s fit to play and comes in. Don’t expect him to bowl though, which might help Beau Webster’s role with Clint Hinchliffe probably the one who drops out.
Nathan Coulter-Nile will return after being managed, with Brody Couch probable to make way having been expensive, going for 2-40 from three overs.
Given the Stars are out of finals contention, they may give opportunities to younger guys like Cam McClure, Tom O’Connell and Campbell Kellaway.
Ins: Nathan Coulter-Nile, Marcus Stoinis
Outs: Brody Couch, Clint Hinchliffe
Unavailable: Glenn Maxwell (broken leg), Joe Burns (hamstring), Trent Boult (ILT20)

Heat
Brisbane enjoyed a good win in Adelaide last time out, with their bowlers defending 154, so don’t expect any changes to the attack. English import Sam Hain was super unlucky to be run out on his debut, so he’ll probably hold off Ross Whiteley for a recall. Matt Renshaw hasn’t impressed this BBL and potentially may not be safe.

Sydney Sixers v Adelaide Strikers
Tuesday 17 January, 7:15pm AEDT, Coffs Harbour
Sixers
It’s tough to know what the Sixers will do with their bowlers, especially at an unfamiliar venue like Coffs. Steve O’Keefe is injury prone nowadays, so likely doesn’t make the trip.
Ins: Todd Murphy
Outs: Steve O’Keefe (managed)

Strikers
Chris Lynn is a big out for Adelaide, having flown out for the ILT20, with Thomas Kelly his likely replacement having dropped out for last game.
The Strikers have lost their past two games with a lack of the runs the big issue and they’ve used four bowlers and Ben Manenti as a pseudo all-rounder at 7 in those games. With Lynn gone, they may want more batting cover.
That set-up may also not be necessary if de Grandhomme is available to bowl after a hamstring strain, or they simply back Matt Short and Travis Head to share the fifth bowler overs. Henry Thornton seems out of favour with the bowlers who have been decent enough, but Peter Siddle is out managing his back, which opens the door for him.
Ins: Thomas Kelly, Henry Thornton, Rya Gibson
Outs: Chris Lynn (ILT20), Peter Siddle, Ben Manenti

Perth Scorchers v Hobart Hurricanes
Wednesday 18 January, 4:40pm WST/7:40pm AEDT, Optus Stadium
Scorchers
There’s been a lot of talk of an Andrew Tye rest but Perth are still battling for the all-important top spot after losing to the Sixers on Sunday, so will want to field their best side.
This game is probably too soon for Jhye Richardson, being two weeks to the day since he suffered his hamstring injury.
Ins: Matt Kelly
Outs: David Payne
Unavailable: Cameron Green (finger), Mitch Marsh (ankle), Phil Salt (shoulder), Tymal Mills (personal), Jhye Richardson (hamstring), Faf du Plessis (SA-20), Adam Lyth (ILT20)

Hurricanes
The Canes have some momentum going after back-to-back wins, so don’t expect many changes, which means D’Arcy Short likely misses out again. They may prefer another pace option in Perth, so Tom Andrews could drop out for WA local Joel Paris or all-rounder Mitch Owen.
Hobart had originally hoped Shadab Khan would return from Pakistan ODI duty in time for this game, but that’s uncertain having suffered a finger injury which saw him miss that series.

Outs: Tom Andrews

Sydney Thunder v Melbourne Renegades
Thursday 19 January, 7:15pm AEDT, Manuka Oval
Thunder
The Thunder have lost a few in a row now, putting their finals post in jeopardy, so they want to tinker with personnel, although their squad lacks the requisite depth. Sam Whiteman has scored 5 and 2 in his last two knocks, so could drop out, with Joel Davies unlucky to not play since his debut. We reckon they’ll back the likes of David Warner to find form and make no changes.
No changes
Unavailable: Tanveer Sangha (back), Jason Sangha (collarbone) Fazalhaq Farooqi (contract terminated), Gurinder Sandhu (calf), Rilee Rossouw (SA-20), Alex Hales (ILT20)

Renegades
Jake Fraser-McGurk came in for the derby and opened not Mackenzie Harvey or Marcus Harris and despite only scoring 1, he likely deserves another crack at it after a win.
Fawad Ahmed had a knee issue late in the derby but is likely going to be fit for this game at Manuka which has taken spin kindly in the past.
