Hello and welcome back to another Devil’s Advocate, it’s time to ask ourselves the question: who are the best single game round targets?

Now, let’s answer this question with a foresight to Round 8, where the Sixers and Hurricanes have a double. We shouldn’t stack for those yet, but just start to monitor potential trade targets.
Rashid Khan ($153k BWL)
Rashid has fizzled since his first game, but as evidenced last year, where he averaged 40.8 in the 4 games that led up to his final game of the season in which he scored 187. So he can explode at any time. A must get after many would have sold him for the bye. Note, he has only three more games left before he exits for the SA-20.
Shadab Khan ($168k BAT/BWL)
His all-round ability has meant that he’s accumulated points easily so far, and he’s yet to fire with his batting too. A popular VC and buy option for Round 6. Also exits after Round 7 for Pakistan ODI, so will miss the Round 8 Canes double.
Andrew Tye ($174k BWL)
A death bowler in a gun Perth team, he’s gonna be high on your buy list for sure. Great consistency at a fair price. Great availability. Grab him.
Matthew Wade ($152k WKP/BAT)
Back after his one-game ban, Wade will look to continue his fine form early on in the season. If you’re not a fan of holding Philippe, sell and get Wade.
Luke Wood ($171k BAT/BWL)
Do you look to zig when others zag? Luke Wood is your guy, yes he’s got a high breakeven of 87, but putting a pure BWL in your BAT could be a genius move.
Riley Meredith ($134k BWL)
An aggressive wicket-taker who can take bags of wickets, he is definitely underpriced. A sneaky POD too. Upcoming double.
Trent Boult ($131k BWL)
Boult at $131k is a great price, particularly when he’s yet to clean up this BBL. He does leave in a couple of games for the ILT20 but could be a great POD until then.
Matthew Gilkes ($98k WKP/BAT)
Two rounds ago he was gone for all money, and now after 2 ripping scores, he has a BE of -74 and if he meets his projected score of 24, will go up 24k. A great bench loop candidate in your BAT.
So there’s a wide spread of options ahead of the next two rounds. Go ahead and start shopping SuperCoaches!
