UPDATES
Ben Dwarshuis ($149k BWL) talked about why he wasn’t in the Sixers side previously, before his breakout 4fa on Wednesday. He said: “To be excluded for a couple of games and get brought back in and do well, it means a lot. I worked hard, went back to basics, trying to bowl my best ball & challenge the batters. It was about getting confidence back in myself.”
Gades skipper Nic Maddinson raved about Kane Richardson’s ($146k BWL) game on Wednesday. He said: “He bowled some pretty tough overs. He did a really job (in the surge) and got a breakthrough. I had to turn to him a bit earlier. He had a big role in the way we bowled after the 10-over mark.”
Cricket Australia confirmed that Cameron Green ($62k BAT/BWL) will miss the third Test due to injury which will likely have trickle-on effects for the BBL. He also seems unlikely to play for the Perth Scorchers after the Test series as had been planned.
CA said in a statement: “Has a small fracture to his right index finger. He will bat again in this match but will not bowl, followed by a period of recovery leading into the Tour of India.”
Mitchell Starc is also set to miss the third Test with a finger injury, which may impact the likes of Michael Neser ($155k BAT/BWL) or Jhye Richardson ($240k BWL).
There’s also talk of adding a spinner which may draw in someone like Ashton Agar ($142k BAT/BWL), Mitch Swepson ($76k BWL), Todd Murphy ($74k BWL) or Adam Zampa ($131k BWL). We’ll likely find out on Friday now the Test is over.
