UPDATES
Beau Webster ($80k BAT) spoke to the media on Tuesday morning, revealing he is set for an extended run batting at first drop, which makes him an excellent cash cow given his negative breakeven.
Webster said: “It’s a bit of a different role… I started at 6-7 1st up, then we lost Burnsy so I’ve jumped up to no.3, so I’m trying to grab that opportunity at the top of the order. I’m just trying to solidify that spot at no.3.”
Scorchers captain Ashton Turner hailed Josh Inglis ($87k WKP/BAT) after his impressive batting display on Monday night, in a sign his role won’t change.
Turner said: “He’s a little bit unique in our batting order. He hits the ball to unusual areas, he plays spin well, he plays the quicks well, he’s got power and finesse and a lot of bases covered.”
