Heat local replacement player Josh Brown ($42k BAT), who was in devastating T20 Max form in August, opened the innings for the Heat Coast side alongside Sam Heazlett ($83k BAT), helping his side to 2-96 after eight overs upon his dismissal.
Brown also bowled two overs, taking 2-4, adding further weight to his claims for selection.
Matt Renshaw ($136k BAT/BWL) batted first drop for Coast, scoring 40* from 33 balls, while he bowled one over, taking 1-11. Spencer Johnson ($42k BWL) took a 4fa.
For the Gold line-up, Max Bryant ($95k BAT) opened but failed, alongside Colin Munro ($150k BAT), in a potential sign of their options around openers, providing competition for Brown.
Likely local replacement player Nathan McSweeney (BAT/BWL) kept up his good form with 51 from 30 balls batting first drop, plus a wicket with the ball.
