Marsh Cup
Sixers opener Josh Philippe made 73 from 94 for WA in Saturday’s narrow win over Queensland but Heat recruit Matt Renshaw was named Player of the Match after scoring 104 from 114. Michael Neser took a 5fa for Queensland.
Uncontracted Nathan McSweeney was Player of the Match for SA against NSW at run-friendly North Sydney Oval on Saturday, scoring 94 from 113 balls and taking 2-51. Tom Kelly smacked 53* from 34 balls late in the innings. Daniel Hughes crunched 139 from 127 for the Blues. Henry Thornton took a 3fa.
Sheffield Shield
Jordan Silk made 154* for Tasmania against Victoria, while Kurtis Patterson overcame a migraine to score 122* for NSW.
Jhye Richardson boosted his Test credentials (possibly impacting his early-season availability) with six wickets in WA’s win over Queensland. Michael Neser did the same, with seven wickets for the game and a half-century.
NSW
Thunder batsman Ollie Davies scored a century to lead Manly Warringah past Bankstown in the NSW Premier Cricket on Saturday, the second day of two-day games.
In Sunday’s Kingsgrove T20 Cup games, Thunder spinner Chris Green batted first drop for Northern District, scoring 32 off 25 balls before taking 1-19 as they defended their score in a thriller.

Victoria
Renegades wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Harper blazed 86* from 74 balls in a match-winning display for Melbourne as Victorian Premier Cricket finally got underway after a rainy October with 50-over games on Saturday.
Scorchers spinner Peter Hatzoglou (2-23) and uncontracted Fawad Ahmed (3-22) led Melbourne Uni’s win over Greenvale Kangaroos.

Queensland
Heat replacement signing Josh Brown kept up his hot form with 129 from 126 balls for Norths in the second day of the two-day games on Saturday. Thunder veteran Ben Cutting bowled in both innings for South Brisbane (2-28 and 3-40). Canes spinner Paddy Dooley took 3-94 from 44 overs for Wests.
WA
Nothing major out of the first day of two-day WA Premier Cricket games on Saturday, with plenty of the key players in action for WA in the Marsh Cup on the same day. Gades recruit Jono Wells made 41 from 78 balls to continue his good form for Perth.

SA
Nothing of note from Saturday’s two-day games, but in Sunday’s one-dayers Strikers replacement Daniel Drew made 116* from 128, while Harry Nielsen continued to struggle for runs. Sixers spinner Lloyd Pope took 2-11 from 10 overs.

Tasmania
Nathan Ellis (2-27) and Ben McDermott (11 off 40) were among the big names back in action for the weekend’s two-day games but Hurricanes all-rounder Mitch Owen starred with 118 off 125 and two wickets.
