UPDATES
Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge explained how the selection of Stefan Martin (AF $438k SC $308k RUC) may impact the role of Tim English (AF $771k SC $495k F/R).
He said: “Stef has had a really tough year, health and injury wise. It’s only the last month he’s got on top of things. The last month for Footscray he’s moved like a 25-year-old. (Based) off form we really had to bring him in. It gives us an opportunity to play the two rucks in a 50-50 type way.”
Port coach Ken Hinkley said about the omission of young ruck Brynn Teakle (AF $235k SC $102k F/R). He said: “We’re keen to play Brynn but he has a lot to work on in his game. Ideally we’d have a ruckman in the team but we don’t have the right ruckman available this week.”
Hinkley wasn’t asked about Connor Rozee (AF $782k SC $540k M/F) who had a knee concern last week but had scans which cleared him of serious injury.
