Role plays a big part in determining a player’s AFL Fantasy and SuperCoach scoring potential. In this weekly subscriber-only column, we reflect on the past round’s CBAs, kick-ins and TOG% for an insight.

Collingwood v Essendon
CBAs (26): The major talking point from this game was Darcy Cameron’s (8) role change, with Mason Cox (18) playing lead ruck. Cameron only scored 34/71, with 30% CBAs. Cameron had 60% CBAs in games without Brodie Grundy prior to this week.
Zach Merrett (9) was also shifted out of the CBs, but that didn’t impact his scoring, churning out 121/133. Merrett has 85% CBAs in Round 18 but that dipped to 34%, way down on his previous season average of 66%.
Kick-ins: Nick Daicos (2/2) only got two of Collingwood’s 10 kick-ins, while Jordan Ridley (3/3) had Essendon’s most with Mason Redman (2/2) going off at half-time.
TOG%: Medi-sub Josh Carmichael only played 17% yet scored 32/33 which was outstanding.

Brisbane Lions v Gold Coast Suns
CBAs (33): The presence of Rhys Mathieson (20), who scored 73/87, impacted the CBAs of Jarryd Lyons (15) and Hugh McCluggage (13) with both below 50% attendance. Gold Coast’s set-up was normal.
