UPDATES

Oleg Markov (AF $538k SC $382k DEF) is out of the Gold Coast side and coach Stuart Dew offered an update on Friday.

Dew said: “He hurt his calf in Q2. He was able to play the game out. We’ve gone with a no risk policy on the bac of a six-day break. he should be no worries next week.”

Josh Dunkley (AF $823k SC $634k M/F) is back for the Dogs but may not be overly sharp straight up.

Dogs coach Luke Beveridge said: “Dunks comes in fit but he hasn’t played footy so he’s probably not that match fit & match hardened player that he was when he went out of the side. That might take 1 or 2 weeks to get back.”

Tim Kelly (AF $568k SC $397k MID) has also been named by West Coast despite an injury scare during the week.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson said: “There’s probably 4 or 5 where you have to see them train and see how they pull up and recover. I think they’re all more likely. We’ll judge him (Kelly) today.”

Simpson also spoke about debutant Connor West (AF $170k SC $102k MID). He said: “He’s exactly what we’re looking for. He puts good pressure on, he’s tenacious. He loves to tackle & he’s already a favourite around the club with his work rate. He’s going to come in and play his role.”

Hawsk coach Alastair Clarkson spoke about Ned Reeves (AF $235k SC $123k RUCK) who returns this round.

Clarkson said: “Ned Reeves obviously has an enormous task ahead of him coming up against Max Gawn. He will learn a lot of lessons playing against him tomorrow.”

Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks confirmed Matt Crouch (AF$844k SC $594k MID) will play in the SANFL this weekend after a long time out injured.
