Stay up to date throughout the round with our rolling injury report from the coaches post-game. With the fixtures coming thick, fast and ad-hoc, more than ever, these snippets of info will be key.

Richmond v Gold Coast
No new injury concerns. Suns coach Stuart Dew flagged David Swallow (AF $655k SC $400k MID) will return after being managed. Dew said: “Dave we’ve flagged leading into this three in nine days based on his history, we were trying to get ahead of the curve rather than wait and then react.”

West Coast v Hawthorn
Elliot Yeo (AF $646k SC $473k MID) was a late withdrawal with a groin injury which will rule him out for a “few weeks”.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson: “Elliot Yeo looks like he’s going to be out for a few weeks with a groin issue. He got a bit tight last week and we didn’t know how it’d recover. We gave it until today. It might be an osteitis type issue. We were hoping it wasn’t. He hasn’t pulled up well. He might be out for a few weeks, which might mean five games.”

Jack Redden (AF $544k SC $420k MID) suffered an adductor problem which Simpson said “wasn’t major” while he said Liam Duggan (AF $613k SC $397k DEF) and Mark Hutchings (AF $378k SC $274k MID) would be available for selection next round for hamstring and toe injuries.

Hawthorn appears to have lost James Sicily (AF $661k SC $597k DEF) for a significant period of time with a knee injury, which is either a medial or ACL. Hawks coach Alastair Clarkson said: “We’re uncertain at this stage. He’s got an unstable knee so that’s not a good sign.

“We’ll get it scanned in Adelaide on Tuesday & see where it goes. The mechanism didn’t look great. Whatever happens, he’ll miss a period of time, it’s either a medial or ACL.”

Clarkson also said he wasn’t sure when Isaac Smith (AF $563k SC $339k MID) would return due to a lot of bleeding into the shoulder joint, despite there being no significant damage.

St Kilda v Essendon
Ben Paton (AF $496k SC DEF) suffered an early concussion which may be OK for next round given St Kilda have a seven-day break. Saints coach Brett Ratten said Dean Kent (AF $452k SC $364k FWD) and Jake Carlisle (AF $479k SC $334k DEF) would be available next round.

Western Bulldogs v Adelaide
Dogs coach Luke Beveridge played down ruckman Tim English‘s (AF $654k SC $507k RUCK) ankle concern. Beveridge said: “I just asked him how he is and he seems to be OK. It was just a little tweak. We’ll give you an update once we’ve had a look.”

Andrew McPherson (AF $356k SC $281k DEF) injured his hamstring. Adelaide Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders said: “Andrew reported onset of low-level hamstring tightness in the left leg late in the second quarter.

“We took a cautious approach with Andrew. He was playing great football, and has made such significant gains this season that we will take no chances with him. He will be scanned and assessed tomorrow before planning his management going forward.”

Nicks was asked about Ben Davis (AF $182k SC $123k FWD), who hasn’t played since Round One. He said: “Benny has got a few things he’s working on but he might get his opportunity now we’ve come off a poor performance… He’ll get his opp when the time is right. Maybe we need some speed & that’s what he brings.”

Fremantle v Carlton
No new injury concerns.

Melbourne v Collingwood
Dees coach Simon Goodwin offered another update on Max Gawn (AF $920k SC $721k RUCK) returning next round from his shoulder/knee issues. Goodwin said: “Max trained this morning and trained strongly. All indications are he’s going to be available next week but we’ll see how he gets through the whole week.”

Brody Mihocek (AF $453k SC $364k FWD) suffered a nasty concussion. Pies coach Nathan Buckley said: “Checkers was knocked out… He went to hospital for precautionary scans on his neck but we don’t believe there’s any major injury.”

Injury-prone Ben Reid (AF $419k SC $317k FWD) hurt his hamstring and likely will be out for a while.

North Melbourne v Brisbane Lions
Tristan Xerri (AF $193k SC $144k RUCK/FWD) was a late inclusion for Robbie Tarrant (AF $509k SC $420k DEF) who has a minor calf issue. Will Walker (AF $268k SC $154k FWD) hurt his hamstring too.

Charlie Cameron
(AF $524k SC $419k FWD) seemed troubled by his recent knee issue but Lions coach Chris Fagan dismissed any concerns. Fagan said: “Our medical staff are as professional as there are in the competition and there’s no way he would’ve played today if he wasn’t right to play. He was right to play.”

Geelong v Port Adelaide
Popular midfield option Sam Simpson (AF $421k SC $287k MID) sustained a hamstring injury which will likely lead to an extended stint on the sidelines. Geelong coach Chris Scott said: “My amateur diagnosis watching him come off the field is that it looks like a decent one. When they can’t even walk off properly it doesn’t look great.”

Sydney v GWS Giants
Jake Lloyd
(AF $799k SC $631k DEF) had his left ankle iced up late in the game but Sydney coach John Longmire dismissed any concerns. Longmire said: “There’s a few bumps and bruises (among the group). We’ll see how they are tomorrow but nothing is jumping out at the moment.”
